Radio advertising may be a lot cheaper than you might imagine. You are simply buying air. A lot of times you can get a special rate, which helps to keep the cost down. 

A lot of times non regular hours are even better than regular hours, because people are not as busy. During regular hours people listen to the radio for their own enjoyment. They are busy, and their minds are anywhere but on your advertisement. 

That is why people are more likely to respond if you advertise during off-hours. They are more relaxed and have more time to listen and think about what you are saying. This way, you can get the hours that no one else wants - which are usually cheaper for you to run your ad in - and often get a better response.
